True, in the long run it might launch an OLED telly of its own (and we’d be amazed if there aren’t already prototypes at HQ), but for now Samsung is completely committed to QLED. And i f the QLED TVs do turn out to be better and cheaper than OLEDs, that’ll be a huge deal for telly addicts everywhere.
It is a great TV though. Before this TV I had a Pioneer Kuro Plasma which is the only TV I have ever seen that matches the LG and that is a huge compliment for the Oled. OLED is OK in bright room, but max brightness will kill is faster. I not talking about watching static pictures, OLED loosing color saturation. Like plasma, OLED controls its image on a pixel-by-pixel basis. So when a pixel isn’t being powered, it’s off – and black as a result. So OLED offers deep black tones and high contrast For example, this Q80C TV from Samsung is not only 85 inches, it also runs a QLED panel, which is better than a traditional LED panel on its own. Even better, the whole thing has a significant
Samsung claims its QLED TVs "deliver the highest brightness levels currently on the market." But while it's true that QLED offers unbeatable vibrancy, OLED offers exceptional black performance and uncompromised contrast levels. The lack of any backlight helps the OLED cause no end. So, acronym fans, which is better: OLED or QLED?
On the other hand, QD-OLED TVs use OLED technology combined with Quantum Dot to boost the picture quality, achieving better contrast and deeper blacks than standard LCDs. Neo QLED TVs can also produce a higher brightness and wider color gamut than QD-OLED models thanks to the additional Mini-LED local dimming.
With an expanding range of OLED options, the technology is more affordable than before too with some older OLED TVs proving highly affordable from the LG wheelhouse. LG 55-inch UQ70 4K TV — $300
So whether you’re after OLED or LCD, Dolby Vision or HDR10, this guide will help you make the right choice. I’m not going to claim that either OLED or QLED is the better premium technology Due to quantum dots and the pure monochromatic color they produce, QD-OLED TVs offer a higher color volume. Reds, in particular, look deeper on QD-OLEDs compared to regular OLEDs. Although OLED is great in terms of viewing angles, defeating usual LCDs and QLED displays, QD-OLEDs take that a notch up. Even at off-axis angles, QD-OLED displays
Oled absolutely. I have just upgraded to a c3 oled from a cx oled and its been an amazing experience. My girlfriend has a qled in the living room while my oled is in the bedroom and we even had the c3 and qn90a next to each other and the oled looks much better. I own OLED TV and knew more expensive Q-LEDs ( called Neo from these manufactor ). The dark-sceneries of a OLED is a different world than QLED and as a home-movie-fan the OLED is still the best what exist. But a QLED can be much brighter and is much better suitable for static content. Most of the time, anyway. This LG model isn't just any OLED, either, it's an OLED evo TV, which LG says are brighter than any OLED it's made before. We tested that, obviously, so see if LG's new OLED is brighter than standard ones . But we're talking contrast here, and this G1 is still better at it. Only just, though.
